Our Story

In October 2021 it was the Beginning

We’re Preston & Sarah Lowder – both Shreveport, Louisiana natives. We originally met as childhood friends – but didn’t “meet again” until we found ourselves on the parade route of a Mardi Gras celebration next to the local duck pond. Less than a year later we were engaged. We’re now married with three beautiful, young children.

We began

It’s Time To Pursue Our Dream

We began Lowder King Cakes by making small batches of king cakes and cookies during Mardi Gras seasons and sharing with family and friends. Before we knew it, demand increased and we grew out of our home kitchen.
We decided it was time to pursue our dream to open a local bakery – now known as Lowder Baking Company. We offer a full bakery menu daily that includes Breakfast Pastries, Cinnamon Rolls, Fresh Breads, Desserts, Cookie Cakes, and more. In October 2021 we opened Doc’s Sandwich.
